October 2013 HKIDA Happenings CONFERRAL OF FELLOWSHIP   HKIDA conferred the first Fellow Membership upon 8 well-known interior designers to honor their contribution to the interior design industry. HKIDA’s first fellows include John Chan, Kinney Chan, Ivan Dai, Patrick Fong, Barrie Ho MH, Dr. Patrick Leung, Steve Leung and William Lim. To commemorate this special event, the newly appointed HKIDA fellows met with the association’s committee members to conduct a simple ceremony and received the committee’s hearty congratulations on 10 September 2013. In return, the Fellows offered their sincere advice on the future development of the association as well the industry as a whole. HKIDA has been well established for 22 years and now has over 500 members. This is the result of the solid foundation laid out by the Fellows and their efforts to improve the industry over the years. Indeed, the newly appointed Fellows have all been HKIDA members for over 10 years, and have set excellent examples for the industry with their professional work and conduct. Many of them were former Chairmen of the association, and have made deep and long-lasting contribution to the HKIDA, and therefore well-deserve this special honor.   JUDGING COMPLETED We would like to thank all entrants for their support by submitting their design works to APIDA. We are pleased to have received about 600 entries from Asia Pacific region this year. The judging has been completed, while we have also collected the valuable comments from the judges. Upcoming event EAST GATHERING 2013 – TOKYO Hosted by the Japan Commercial Environmental Design Association (JCD), the East Gathering 2013 – Tokyo is going to be held 25 – 27 October 2013 (exhibition will start on 20 Oct), coinciding with JCD Design Award Exhibition & Awards Ceremony.
