CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS - HKIDA MEMBERS DIRECTORY 2013
HKIDA is pleased to jointly publish the Members Directory with hinge magazine. This year's edition of the Members Directory will be produced in the format of a hardcover design book, and in addition to showcasing members’ company portfolios and works, there will be an additional editorial section by hinge magazine, titled Living Room, which will be a collection of forty residential interiors completed by HKIDA members. Professional Members who order members showcase can get additional page(s) in the Living Room section free of charge. Available at major bookstores in Hong Kong and by direct circulation in China, the Members Directory will also be circulated to key personnel at leading land developers across major cities in Asia, including Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia. We are also working on a digital version to increase circulation.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS – DESIGN SHOWCASE ON HKIDA FACEBOOK
Another channel to promote members’ works! HKIDA is going to display a design showcase on its facebook page to promote members’ most up-to-date design works. The showcase will start in July, and new works will be added on a-weekly basis. Please send in your recent design works (3 – 5 images per project, small jpeg (max. 1mb per image), completed no more than 2 years) and a brief description of the design (50 words in English & Traditional Chinese) to admin@hkida.org.

More than 80 participants enjoyed a marvelous evening with members’ presentation on their design projects on 1 June 2012. The members networking was held at our Sponsor’s venue - Goodrich Gallery. Members shared their exciting projects in Pecha Kutcha style and new members were also awarded membership certificates. With the overwhelming responses, HKIDA will surely provide more opportunities for members to share their design talent.

INTERIOR DESIGN X AIR-CON CROSSOVER CONTEST – RESULT ANNOUCEMENT
Organized by HKIDA, sponsored by Fujitsu General, “Interior Design X Air-Con Crossover Contest” was successfully completed. Congratulations to Mr. Victor Serrano as the winner for open division and Ms. Wessely Tan as the winner for student division.
The objective of this contest was to allow interior designers to integrate air-conditioners, which most people believe to be something ordinary, into a part of Interior design. With the aim to encouraging more young local interior designers to come up with more innovative designs and, at the same time, obtaining the opportunity to better connect to market-reality, this contest attracted over 200 entries. The submissions showed that professional designers and students have thoroughly understanding of how air-conditioners can be integrated into interior design master plans.
