HKIDA has successfully organized Master Talk 2016 on 21 November 2016 at Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Over 220 participants joined Master Talk 2016.

“It is exciting to see over 220 participants join the Master Talk 2016. The event provides extensive opportunities for interior designers and students to share their own experiences and personal perspectives on the body of knowledge issues that matter in today’s design world,” said Antony Chan, Chairman of HKIDA.
Following the successful Master Talk in 2015, the second edition of the event is now recognized as one of the most preeminent international interior design conferences in Hong Kong. Focusing on the bodies of knowledge of interior design, speakers presented different topics that inspired interior design practitioners and students, sharing them valuable knowledge and working experience.

This year, the Master Talk featured speakers from different regions, including:
Caroline Bos, Co-founder and Principal Urban Planner of UNStudio in Holland;
Caroline Sohie, Architecture Director for INSTINCT in UK;
Patrick Leung, Founder and Principal Design of P A L Design Group in Hong Kong;
Kung Shu Chang, Professor and Director of the Graduate Institute of Architecture, NTCU Taiwan, and Chairman of Board of Chinese Association of Interior Designers in Taiwan;
Shigeru Kubota, President of Kubota Architect & Associates Inc. in Japan; and Louie. T. Navarro, Co-founder of IB Design Group Inc. in Philippines.

24th ASIA PACIFIC INTERIOR DESIGN AWARDS PRESENTATION CUM GALA DINNER CELEBRATION OF DESIGN EXCELLENCE AND PROFESSIONALISM
|
|
|
HKIDA organized the 24th APIDA Awards Presentation cum Gala Dinner on 21 November 2016 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, presented the awards of 13 categories under the witnesses of 300 guests.
The APIDA received over 630 submissions from the Asia Pacific regions including those from the Mainland, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, etc. Over the past 23 years, APIDA had witnessed the evolution of the design evolvement in the Asia Pacific Region. Entries from various different countries demonstrate significant and encouraging improvement in the quality of interior design throughout the region.
Supported by local and international interior design masters as judges, with vigorous screening and intensive adjudication, APIDA is now a benchmark of achievement to many young interior designers, and is widely celebrated by top interior design brands. The gala dinner brings interior design professionals together in a celebration of the creative spirit of interior design, and serves to propel the industry forward.

Over 300 attendees joined APIDA 2016. More than 80 awards were presented.

HKIDA X INTERIOR DESIGN CHINA: MAINLAND DESIGNER EXCHANGE TOUR
|
|
|
With support by Interior Design China, HKIDA organized an exchange tour for mainland designer. More than 20 designers from the mainland came to join Master Talk 2016 and also 24th Asia Pacific Interior Design Awards presentation cum gala dinner on 21 Nov 2016. Next day, HKIDA arranged a tour visit to some Hong Kong interior design firms, including Steve Leung Designers, CL3 Architects, PAL Design Consultants and Ronald Lu & Partners.
